How many of you play video games?

Video games are classified into two categories, mindless games and educational games.

What is a mindless video game? It is something that has absolutely no educational purpose what so ever.It does not impart any values, and neither do we learn any lessons from the process of playing. It's sole purpose is to entertain. One example is the ever popular Maplestory.

All you do in this game is kill monsters, level-up and complete quests. As it has cute graphics, it appeals to both genders regardless of age. It also has a marriage system that allows you marry another character of the opposite gender, using real money. Moreover, it is designed to use our competitive spirit against ourselves, fighting among each other in the form of battles to see who is the ultimate victor.

It also has another bad point that most games share, prepaid cards. They can be bought from shops like 7-eleven and gives you special points to buy special items in the game, increasing the rate you gain a level and other physical properties such as speed and health points. Making the game more addictive as you have an advantage over those who do not buy these special point cards.

As I was once a player of this game, I can tell you first-hand that once you have quit playing the game and when you look back, you will be surprised how much time and money you have spent on this game.

Moving on , I will be talking about educational games .
There are different levels and types of educational games .There are high leveled educational games , and there are also low leveled educational games. These games are categorized into two genres . Puzzle and strategy .

I am sure many of you heard of the game"World of Warcraft "(D.O.T.A).WOW (World of Warcraft) is a strategy game.Most strategy games are low leveled educational games.But some strategy games are high leveled educational games, which is based on real life circumstances . For instance , Peace Maker . It is a game where you take the role of either Isaraeli or Palistinain head of state ,and the purpose of this game is to balance public opinion both sides.

Puzzle games are not as popular as Strategy games as they do require more thinking .Some Puzzle games can be quite fun and challenging . Such as Echochrome , which is played on the PlayStationPortable(psp) or Playstaion 3 .Echochrome is a unique puzzle game. With gameplay based on optical illusions, players must utilize five simple laws of perspective to hide dangers, and create new paths to reach the goal .
